The plug-in site for students in York at college or university connecting with the Churches of York

September 6, 2005

'YOYO (YOrk Schools and YOuth Trust) goes into lots of primary and secondary schools to take assemblies/RE lessons/clubs etc, and seek to share the gospel with young people! This is such exciting work and its growing all the time - which is why we're on the look out for students to work alongside us as volunteer helpers / leaders. There are loads of ways of getting involved:

The trust employs a full time band (Overtone) to work in schools - to read more about this particular work please check out the website: There is also an all girl band made up of volunteers called 'Insight'. If your a dancer and/or a singer and would like to be involved in 'Insight' please get in touch!
If you're interested, please email us on:

Open The Book is our primary school assembly scheme - teams of volunteers welcome!

Rock Solid clubs run in 4 secondary schools and involve fun, madness, chocolate, christian input and lots of games for 11-14 year olds at lunchtime and after school - we're taking on a new club this term so we need lots more enthusiastic leaders!

Events such as the Multicoloured Praise Party (for 8-11s) and RUup4It? (for 11-16s) are worship and teaching events, packed with fun, interactivity and creativity!

Overtone our pop-dance band are always looking for people to help with lighting / pa / projection / choregraphy and stewarding

We really would love to hear from students who are keen to work with children and young people. If you like what you hear then get in touch - we'd love to hear from you...
